I’m releasing these designs into the public domain so feel free to use them however you’d like, including personal and commercial use. Once imported, ungroup everything by pressing control + shift + g, and then the designs should be available for use. To use the Trace Bitmap function, simply select the object you’d like to trace, then go to Path > Trace. The first thing we’re going to do is create a series of perfectly round circles that overlap with each other. The Trace Bitmap extension scans your image and uses it as a reference to automatically generate a vector rendering of it. Now you can separate each scanned layer, and each has a different color shade. Now select this image and go to the Object menu of the menu bar, then click on the ‘Ungroup’ option of the drop-down list. We’re going to pay special attention to the spacing between the 3 circles because if it’s not. Click on Apply button, and you can see it is the most accurate tracing of this image for converting it into a vector format. The intersection area (indicted in red in the image below) will make up the shape of the logo design. ![]() To open it, open up Inkscape and then click and drag the PDF document onto your canvas to import it.
